War Thunder!
Yes it is no longer a secret I am playing the game that our community has a love/hate relationship with. I'm really enjoying the tank battles. The idea that the tank is so vulnerable is really exciting for me. I am having a little trouble with the planes though. I know the preferred method of control is with the mouse, but I miss the feel of the actual aircraft. I played Flight Simulators like Microsoft and IL-2 for years so anything, but an actual joystick feels awkward to me.
My question is are there any guides on how to properly set up the joystick? I know I will be at a disadvantage to mouse users, but I have the most common joystick it seems(Logitech Extreme 3D Pro) so I really would like to give it a try. Also with actual joystick control would I have to worry about propeller torque?

hardin, there's a number of threads on exactly that over on the WT forums. There are also some YT vids on it that show you how to set up Hotas or even a 3D Pro. I'm going to setting mine up again because frankly.....I miss flying. A lot!. I promise to post links to anything good I find here, or I'll PM you with a link.

Thanks Skyray, I've looked at a few of the threads on their forums and they all say pretty much the same thing. That it's a disadvantage in realistic battles against mouse aim. I'll continue to use mouse aim until I have played the game some more. But I have used the joystick when test flying the planes. It is a lot of fun when doing so, but I do see the lack of precision when it comes to aiming.

When you do want to try to set-up your 3D Pro, here's a couple of vids to help out. Remember...you don't have to set it up exactly as it is in the video. The whole joystick thing is based on the fact that you had to change some of the settings depending on the kind of aircraft you are flying. I mean the general sense of kind such as, single engine vs. dual engine. Bombers as opposed to fighters and such. Not every individual aircraft.
Here's an example of the burn in process. It also shows that very different aircraft need slightly different settings.

Re: War Thunder!
Very nice, I'll have to look at these when I get off of work.
