Discord Feasibility Tests/Feedback
Hey gents,
I have been looking into an alternative form of voice communication for a while and stumbled upon Discord. It came up due to Obsidian Entertainment dropping TS3 for it and some of the RDDT units doing the same. Discord is a free voice comms program that I am trying to get feasibility information for and I need your help with feedback. Here is what I currently know they need to add:
And here are some of the advantages we (being myself Thunder, Blitz, Skyray, and Hardin) have already found:
If you want to help us test out Discord, please go to https://discordapp.com/ and either open the app through the website or download the program (you get keybindings and better voice quality through the program) and use this referral link: https://discord.gg/0mQXLPVrH3riKXNb. Please leave any feedback in this thread.

Discord is a free voice comms program that I am trying to get feasibility information for and I need your help with feedback. Here is what I currently know they need to add:
- Sub channels (already confirmed on their subreddit as WIP)
- More detailed permissions features.
- More publicity (to help offset dropping TS if we choose).
And here are some of the advantages we (being myself Thunder, Blitz, Skyray, and Hardin) have already found:
- Great control over text chat (every lance and division has its own voice chat channel).
- Built in image viewer and YouTube player.
- Better voice quality overall.
- In-game detection system (not a selling point, but nice nonetheless).
- Large cross platform support (done via website, downloadable program, or free mobile app)
- Auto AFK checker.

I've found that Discord is a bit more "group-friendly" than Teamspeak; permanent messages that act like a message board instead of a chat room, online status without being required to actively communicate, etc, etc, etc.
This is awesome!
